Making your own dressings and sauces is a great way to keep your budget down, and to know exactly what’s in your dressings. This Whole30 homemade southwest ranch dressing is the creamy ranch you love, but with a little kick to spice up your Paleo meals. It comes together in under 10 minutes, and you don’t need any fancy ingredients!
After you’ve got your small handful of ingredients to make the Whole30 and Paleo homemade southwest ranch dressing, you just need a food processor or immersion blender. Either one works, and truthfully, you could probably mix this by hand too if you were dedicated. Might take a bit more hard labor, but also might save you an extra dish to wash! You’ll also need mayo which you can make yourself just as easy, or use your choice of mayo! I prefer Primal Kitchen.
If you don’t want to make your own, or are looking for a good convenience option for healthy, junk-free ranch, you’re in luck! Primal Kitchen makes a delicious Whole30 Approved ranch dressing. Tessemae’s is also Whole30 Approved, and has an avocado ranch, and creamy ranch that you’d enjoy! You can get them from Amazon, Whole Foods, and Primal Kitchen on Thrive Market.
This Whole30 homemade southwest ranch dressing will stay good in the fridge for up to a week, but I typically don’t ever have it last that long. It’s so tasty when drizzled over a salad, tuna patties, in wraps, or just to dip veggies in.
The options are pretty endless for ways you can use this magical stuff. I like to put a thin layer over chicken prior to baking it and having southwest ranch chicken breasts for protein or in salads throughout the week. My boyfriend loves to have it over roasted potatoes even!

I used The Keg Ranch Dressing instead of mayo, and used 1 teaspoon of Chipotle powder, and this dressing is EXCELLENT !!!! Ill never buy again…
Perfect dressing! Thank you so much. Can’t wait to make it again.
I’m so glad you loved it! Thank you!!
We love love love this recipe. I make it all the time. Its my favorite go to for so many things. Its especially good on a taco salad!
Made this the other day and it is almost gone! It is so good and goes on everything! It’s definitely bringing life back to food at the end of my Whole30.
Need nutrition info!
Hi Shelby, this recipe’s only real ingredient that would give any nutrition facts is just mayo. There aren’t any nutrition info, because it depends on what mayo you use, or if you make it yourself and just use olive oil and an egg. If you don’t make it yourself, then the nutrition info is going to be the same as the mayo you choose to use. Hope that helps!
Thank you! Very good, but I’d put a little less cumin in it for my taste. Husband liked it, and he’s quite picky about dressings!
I am addicted to Wendy’s southwest avocado salad. I am always trying to make it at home so I can make a healthy version of it. This dressing was awesome. I changed it slightly instead of a full cup of mayo I made it with 1/2 c Helman’s olive oil mayo and 1/2 fat free greek yogurt. It was delicious, just the right consistency and blend of spices for the perfect flavor.

I thought this was very good. Is there a way to use something lighter like greek yogurt?
the entire family loved it!
Woo! I’m so happy to hear! Thank you for coming back and letting me know!! <3 - B
This is delicious, SO flavorful (a little goes a long way). Thanks for the recipe!
I’m SO glad you enjoyed!! Thank you!
Great dressing! Reminds me of a southwest veggie dip I used to eat all the time and have been wanting to recreate! Yum!!!
Awesome!! I’m so happy to hear that! Thank you!
It doesn’t state what the ending carb count is.
I am totally Keto so even a few carbs matter.
Please include carb counts in your articles and recipes.
Thanks Clyde! We haven’t gotten to updating every recipe for nutrition value as it’s a manual process, and slow going. Recipes such as this where the one main ingredient is only mayo are not top priority as for those who are totally keto should have any easy time finding out mayo carb count in the nutrition calculator they use to count their carbs, or just on a container of mayo.
I just made this and it is delicious! Thank you so much for sharing!
So, so happy you loved it!! Thank you so much for letting me know, you made my day! <3

I have dill weed in my cabinet, is that the same thing?
It’s just the dried dill you can pick up in the spices section at any grocery store!

I made this on my last whole30 and it was AMAZING!! This go round I have Primal Kitchen Ranch to use, but really want to make a southwest version! Do you think I could just add these seasonings to it and it would work? Thanks for all your amazing recipes! I already have a few planned out for this first week of whole30
