Homemade Italian Sausage (Whole30 & Paleo)

This homemade italian sausage is  Whole30 and paleo. It is gluten free and sugar free and is the best way to have a healthy Italian sausage on hand. This recipe uses a few staple ingredients you likely already have on hand and is fast and easy to make. Plus it can be frozen for later or used right away! Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 2 tablespoons oil (olive oil or avocado oil)
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons fennel
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients, except the oil, thoroughly with your hands
  2. Add oil to a skillet over medium heat
  3. Cook the sausage mix about 8 minutes until browned and break down clumps
  4. Drain the grease

Notes

  • Make in bulk and freeze in pound or half pound portions for later
  • Make the seasoning in bulk ahead of time to have on hand for later
