Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup oil or melted dairy free butter
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. and line an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper
  2. Add the oil or melted dairy free butter into a large mixing bowl with the white sugar and brown sugar. Whisk until the sugar mixture is paste-like, and then add the eggs, honey and vanilla
  3. Mix again until the eggs have been beat, and then add the cocoa powder, flour and salt. Mix the dry ingredients in with the wet ingredients just until combined. Do not over-mix
  4. Transfer the dairy free brownie batter into your baking dish and bake for 35 minutes. Begin checking the brownies at 30 minutes so they do not get over baked and dried out. If in doubt, pull them out a few minutes early and let them rest in the hot baking dish
  5. Let cool before slicing

Notes

  • Avocado oil, melted coconut oil or vegetable oil can be used for the oil
  • Gluten free 1:1 flour can be used in place of all purpose (see post for suggestions)
  • If you use a baking dish larger than 8×8, it will change the baking time, thickness and texture of brownies
